Ado Chale, whose real name is Adolphe Pelsener, was born in Brussels in 1928.
Orphaned at the age of 12, he quickly began his way by trying various crafts.
In the 1950s, he discovered mineralogy, influenced by his wife Huguette Schaal. They opened a gallery in the Belgian capital, and it was she who directed and promoted her husband’s work. Ado Chale is known worldwide for his tables covered with precious or semi-precious stones and his trays made of bronze and aluminum.
His works are preserved in numerous collections.
