Born in Milan in 1892, he graduated from the Brera Academy and had a passion for glasswork. He joined Fontana Arte in the early 1930s.
He became the artistic director of this institution and created numerous models of furniture, lighting fixtures, and objects, establishing himself as a major figure in pre-World War II Italian design. His famous floor lamp, the Luminator, remains his iconic piece.
He passed away in 1948.
