A duo of Milanese master glassmakers, Maurizio Foddis and Andrea Baisi are today among the most promising artisans in Italy. After receiving extensive training in various Italian glass workshops, the two artists settled not far from the Lombardy capital and established their own studio. In just a few years, the studio became a laboratory for unique experiments in shaping and sculpting mirrored glass, thanks to their flawless mastery of this delicate material.
Equipped with the largest furnace in Italy, Foddis & Baisi create original pieces using materials such as mirrored glass sheets or opal glass from the 1950s, showcasing a modern version of the art of glassmaking. They design wall works that blur the line between mirrors and sculptures, like the Astronave, as well as unique pieces of furniture, such as the astonishing Vesuvio cabinet. In its continuous pursuit of technical and stylistic innovation, this synergistic duo offers exclusive creations crafted for Maison Rapin, which quickly became essential elements of exceptional interiors.
